RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), visited Quetta on Wednesday, where he received a comprehensive operational briefing on the prevailing security environment and ongoing internal security operations.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the briefing included details of recent terrorist attacks carried out by Indian-backed internationally-designated terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan, and the prompt, aggressive response by security forces that foiled their attempts to undermine peace, stability, and development in Balochistan.
Measures being undertaken to further strengthen the writ of the state and ensure the protection of the public and critical infrastructure were also discussed during the briefing.
The COAS and CDF reiterated that no terrorist or facilitator would be spared and that all would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. He stressed that violence and terrorism cannot be justified under any pretext.
Field Marshal Munir appreciated the professionalism, valour, and sacrifices of officers and troops of all law enforcement agencies in countering anti-Pakistan designs and maintaining law and order.
Later, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with the Chief Minister of Balochistan, visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta, where he met injured personnel from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, and Police.
He lauded their high morale and commended their bravery and steadfastness in defending the country against foreign-sponsored terrorism.
Upon his arrival in Quetta, the Field Marshal was received by the Commander Quetta Corps.
