ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting on environmental protection in the capital was chaired by Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik on Friday, focusing on preserving Islamabad’s greenery and ensuring citizens’ health.
During the session, officials were briefed on the phased removal of allergy-inducing paper mulberry trees. The minister directed that local, fruit-bearing, and coniferous trees should be planted in their place, with a commitment to plant more trees than are removed.
Dr. Malik emphasised that the greenery of Islamabad must be preserved at all costs and no compromise will be made on protecting the capital’s environment. He stressed that all environmental actions must strictly comply with existing laws and regulations.
“Ensuring full compliance with environmental laws will be a priority. The government is committed to improving Islamabad’s environment and safeguarding public health,” he said.
