FIA arrests visa fraud agent involved in human trafficking scam

FIA

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency Islamabad has arrested a visa fraud agent linked to human trafficking and overseas employment scams, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Asif Nadeem, was running an illegal agency named “Berlin Immigration Solutions” in the federal capital, promising foreign jobs to citizens and extorting large sums of money. According to the FIA, Nadeem collected Rs1.9 million from a complainant by offering employment in the United Kingdom but failed to provide valid travel documents or a genuine job.

FIA officials said the suspect was part of a broader human trafficking network that targeted vulnerable citizens through false claims of visas and overseas employment. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim, after which a raid was conducted and evidence related to visa fraud, illegal recruitment and financial transactions was recovered.

Authorities said further raids are underway at multiple locations to arrest other agents and facilitators connected to the network. Investigations are also ongoing to identify additional victims and trace the flow of money involved in the scam.

The FIA reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking and visa fraud, advising citizens to verify foreign employment agents through the official Protector of Emigrants channels before making any overseas arrangements.
