RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army’s top leadership has expressed firm resolve that no malicious interest, political or otherwise, aimed at undermining national unity, security and stability will be tolerated, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Wednesday.

The resolve was expressed during the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir.

The forum offered Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents while defending the country against foreign-sponsored terrorism.

The army chief paid tribute to the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of the armed forces and appreciated their sustained intelligence-based counterterrorism operations across the country in recent months. He said that due to the combined efforts of the government, the military and the support of the people, Pakistan was steadily moving towards stability, greater opportunities and respect.

The forum conducted a comprehensive review of the internal and external security environment, with a particular focus on evolving threats and operational preparedness. Participants reaffirmed that all terrorists operating under foreign patronage, along with their facilitators and abettors, would be dealt with decisively and without exception.

It categorically rejected any nexus between terrorism, crime and vested political interests, and resolved that no one would be allowed to create divisions between the armed forces and the people.

The participants appreciated the Balochistan Special Development Initiatives aimed at local empowerment and social engagement to address terrorism-related governance challenges, and noted the need for similar public-centric measures elsewhere in line with the National Action Plan to ensure lasting peace and stability.

The forum reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and reaffirmed its principled stance on Palestine, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza and a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood.

In concluding remarks, the army chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, physical fitness, technological innovation and battlefield adaptability. He expressed confidence in the army’s ability to counter the full spectrum of threats, including conventional, sub-conventional, hybrid and asymmetric challenges, while safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
