Pre-arrest bail of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi extended in six cases

Imran Khan

A district and sessions court has extended the pre-arrest bail of the PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and restrained authorities from arresting them in the May 9 case and five other related cases until January 27.

The court passed the orders during the hearing of multiple cases, including those related to the May 9 incidents, attempted murder and alleged fake receipts. The court also directed that Imran Khan must appear before the court at the next hearing either in person or through a video link.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the hearing. Due to the non-availability of the PTI founder, arguments on the bail petitions could not be presented, prompting the court to adjourn the hearing until January 27.

The court extended the interim pre-arrest bail of both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi and ordered that no arrest be made in the relevant cases until the next hearing.

Advocate Shamsa Kiani appeared on behalf of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. Several cases have been registered against the PTI founder, including those related to the May 9 violence, attempted murder and alleged submission of fake receipts, while Bushra Bibi faces a case over the alleged submission of forged receipts.
