RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Dera Bugti district on 5 December following reports of terrorists linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Hindustan.

During the operation, forces engaged the militants, killing five terrorists after an intense exchange of fire. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site. The group had been involved in multiple attacks in the area.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants. The action is part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm e Istehkam framework to remove foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
