RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district on 6 December after reports of terrorists linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Hindustan.
During the operation, forces engaged the hideout and, after an intense exchange of fire, killed twelve terrorists. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site. The group had been involved in multiple attacks in the area.
Sanitization of the surroundings is underway to clear any remaining militants. The operation is part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm e Istehkam framework, aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
