ISLAMABAD: A theft worth Rs 8 million has been reported at the Islamabad residence of Field Marshal Ayub Khan’s family, located in Sector F-8/2, according to police officials.
The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Margalla Police Station on the complaint of Taimur Khan, great-grandson of the late Field Marshal Ayub Khan. The report states that an unidentified woman entered the house by scaling the main gate and proceeded to the drawing room, where she allegedly carried out the theft.
According to the FIR, the suspect took away two silver lamps weighing 2 kilograms, a silver tray of 3 kilograms, four kilograms of utensils, and a 2-kilogram silver box. She also stole Ayub Khan’s invitation scroll, a silver bowl shaped like a deer’s head, a silver tray, and a silver serving spoon (dongha chamcha).
The total value of the stolen items is estimated at Rs 8 million, the complaint stated. The stolen articles reportedly included historically valuable possessions belonging to Pakistan’s first military ruler, Field Marshal Ayub Khan.
Police confirmed that the incident took place on October 26, and an investigation is currently underway. Authorities have launched efforts to trace and recover the stolen items.
