ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia from October 27 to 29 at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to attend the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9), the Foreign Office announced on Sunday.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with senior cabinet members and officials.
The delegation will represent Pakistan at the high-profile global forum, which gathers world leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators under the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.”
According to the Foreign Office, discussions at FII9 will focus on global challenges and opportunities in areas such as innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and geopolitical shifts.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will hold meetings with the Saudi leadership to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. The discussions will also cover regional and global issues of shared concern.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Prime Minister is expected to meet leaders from other participating countries and heads of international organisations to highlight Pakistan’s investment potential and readiness for sustainable collaborations in line with the “Think, Exchange, and Act” model.
The Foreign Office noted that the visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and strengthening strategic partnerships in investment, technology, and sustainable growth.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have recently deepened their bilateral ties through expanded cooperation beyond traditional sectors. During Prime Minister Shehbaz’s earlier visit to Riyadh on September 18, both countries signed a landmark defence pact, affirming that an attack on one nation would be considered an attack on both.
