Islamabad: The official leave approval letter of SP Industrial Area Islamabad, Adeel Akbar, has surfaced, revealing that his leave from October 20 to 22 was approved on October 23, the same day he tragically died.
According to official documents, Adeel Akbar had applied for medical leave after testing positive for dengue fever. Despite his illness, he continued to perform his duties and remained in uniform at his office on October 21 and 22.

Sources said that SP Adeel Akbar’s team had traveled to Kohat to pursue a dacoit gang. He was reportedly instructed by a senior officer to personally go to Kohat, where he, along with a DSP, departed around 5 p.m. and reached Khushalgarh Bridge near 7:45 p.m.
There, the SP gathered intelligence about the suspects and conducted field investigations. Before 10 p.m., he returned to Islamabad, and the arrested suspects were later shifted to the capital the following day.

A source from Kohat claimed that SP Adeel had been advised against transferring the suspects at night. The officer was reportedly very pleased with the success of the operation.
Despite being on approved medical leave, SP Adeel Akbar continued working until October 23, the day of his death.
