Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner in honour of the South African and Pakistan cricket teams at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed each player and official individually, engaging in cordial conversation with members of both squads.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a heartfelt welcome to the South African cricket team and expressed his delight at their visit to Pakistan. He noted that Pakistan and South Africa enjoy excellent relations across multiple spheres, adding that cricket remains an important bridge between the two nations.

The Prime Minister remarked that the ongoing cricket series symbolises the enduring sporting ties and mutual respect shared by Pakistan and South Africa. He lauded South Africa for producing some of the world’s greatest cricketers who have left an indelible mark on the game.
Shehbaz Sharif also commended the Pakistani players for their outstanding performances and for bringing pride and recognition to the nation through their skill and dedication. He expressed confidence that the national team would continue to uphold Pakistan’s cricketing legacy with excellence and determination.
Extending his best wishes to both teams, the Prime Minister said he looked forward to a competitive and exciting series. He reaffirmed his full confidence in Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s leadership and praised his ongoing efforts to promote cricket and strengthen the sport’s infrastructure in the country.

Members of the South African cricket team and management expressed their sincere gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their warmth, hospitality, and generosity. They described the series as a memorable experience and said they deeply appreciated the passion and support shown by Pakistani fans.
The dinner was attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, Federal Minister for Interior and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, as well as senior officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
