TANK: Security forces on Friday killed eight militants in an intelligence-based operation in Tank district, according to the military’s media wing.

The operation was launched on confirmed reports of the presence of militants belonging to a foreign-backed network. During the exchange of fire, troops effectively engaged the hideouts, killing eight militants.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed, who were reportedly involved in several attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.

Following the encounter, a sanitisation operation was launched to clear the area of any remaining militants.
