ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has directed all universities conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 to ensure strict adherence to security, transparency, and examination protocols for the upcoming test.

A meeting chaired by PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj was held with the Registrar, Head of the Examination Department, and vice chancellors of the universities responsible for conducting the MDCAT. During the meeting, the universities were instructed to review and implement all necessary arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

The universities have been advised to ensure proper seating, availability of drinking water, and adequate heating or cooling arrangements at all examination venues. Suitable waiting areas must also be provided for parents and guardians.

To prevent cheating and maintain exam integrity, strict security measures will be enforced, including the installation of jammers to block unauthorized electronic devices. Question papers will be opened only in the presence of witnesses, while bubble sheets with carbon copies will be provided to candidates to ensure record transparency.

After the examination, universities must promptly collect and secure all answer sheets, which are to be retained for at least 12 months from the date of result declaration.

The PM&DC has directed that results of MDCAT 2025 should be compiled and announced within one week of the examination. A post-hoc analysis report must be submitted within ten days of the result announcement, and the official answer key is to be uploaded immediately after the exam. Additionally, candidates will be allowed to apply for rechecking of marks within three days of the result.

The council further clarified that the admission process is the sole responsibility of provincial authorities and admitting universities, which must complete all admissions by February 28, 2026. The PM&DC will not be involved in the admissions phase.

The President emphasized that all universities must strictly follow the issued guidelines to ensure that MDCAT 2025 is conducted with complete fairness, confidentiality, and efficiency.
