WEB DESK: Four police personnel, including SP (Operations) Asad Zubair, were martyred on Friday in twin explosions targeting law enforcement in Hangu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to officials, the first explosion occurred within the jurisdiction of Bilyamina police station, where unidentified attackers used explosives to blow up the Gulmina police post. The blast destroyed part of the post but caused no casualties. A police van and personnel nearby remained safe.
Shortly after the first blast, SP Asad Zubair and his team were en route to inspect the damaged post when their vehicle was struck by a second explosion. The powerful blast claimed the lives of the SP and three police personnel.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed the casualties, adding that the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Security forces later cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.

No group has claimed responsibility for the coordinated attack so far.
Earlier in August, two security personnel were martyred and 11 others injured in an assault on a Frontier Constabulary (FC) check post in Hangu’s Torawarai area, an attack claimed by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Security operations have since intensified across the province as authorities confront a resurgence in militant violence.
