RAWALPINDI: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), met with Mr. Eduard Bachide, State Secretary of Defence, and General Gheorgiță Vlad, Chief of Defence of Romania, during his official visit to the country.
The high-level meeting focused on expanding military-to-military cooperation and strengthening defence relations between Pakistan and Romania.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the longstanding diplomatic and defence ties between the two countries, noting that the relationship is built on shared perspectives regarding regional peace and security. He reaffirmed PAF’s commitment to deepening bilateral collaboration through enhanced operational synergy and new avenues of professional engagement.
The Romanian State Secretary of Defence commended the PAF’s exceptional combat record and operational excellence, expressing Romania’s interest in learning from Pakistan’s extensive military experience. The Romanian Chief of Defence also lauded the professionalism of PAF and underscored Romania’s desire to enhance interoperability through joint exercises, training programmes, and professional exchanges.
