The President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Mohsin Naqvi, has formally responded to a letter from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the Asia Cup trophy.
According to reliable sources, the BCCI had written to the ACC President requesting the handover of the Asia Cup 2025 trophy. In his reply, Mohsin Naqvi stated that if the Indian board wishes to receive the trophy, the ACC will organize an official presentation ceremony for the occasion.
Sources confirmed that the ACC has informed the Indian board that the trophy can be presented on November 10, and a proposal has been made to hold the official ceremony on the same date.
Furthermore, sources added that the ACC President has adopted a clear and firm position, stating that an Indian board representative may attend the ceremony along with one player to formally receive the Asia Cup trophy.
It is worth mentioning that India did not attend the Asia Cup trophy ceremony after defeating Pakistan in the final. The Indian team’s rigid attitude and political stubbornness led them to boycott the presentation and return home without receiving the trophy — a move that clearly showed how India’s politics continues to overshadow cricket in the region.
