Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, on Tuesday interacted with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

Addressing the participants, the army chief said Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, blessed with vibrant, resilient and patriotic people who are the province’s true strength.

He highlighted the federal and provincial governments’ development initiatives aimed at uplifting the socio-economic landscape of Balochistan through a people-centric approach, stressing the need to fully realise the province’s vast economic potential for the benefit of its people.

The COAS appreciated the constructive role of civil society, particularly youth engagement, in promoting sustainable development and countering divisive political agendas.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Indian-sponsored proxies — Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij — continue to propagate anti-people and anti-development narratives to fuel violence in the province. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army is taking all necessary measures to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace in Balochistan.

He reiterated that while Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity will be met with a firm and decisive response to protect the country’s sovereignty and citizens.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, providing participants an opportunity to engage directly with the army chief.
