ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarians have become the latest targets of hackers, as Parliamentary Secretary for Science and Technology, Dr. Nikhat Shakeel, revealed that her WhatsApp account was hacked and misused for fraudulent activities.
According to Dr. Nikhat, hackers gained access to her WhatsApp account and began sending messages to her contacts, soliciting money under false pretenses. “Hackers contacted several of my close associates and requested financial assistance using fake messages,” she said.

Following the incident, Dr. Nikhat promptly filed a complaint with the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency, urging immediate action against the perpetrators. However, despite the complaint, her WhatsApp account remained inaccessible for nearly 30 hours before it was finally restored.
