WEB DESK: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed fast bowler Shaheen Afridi as captain of the national One-Day International (ODI) team.
Shaheen Afridi will lead Pakistan in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa, scheduled to be played from November 4 to 8 at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad, which was attended by Head Coach Mike Hesson, High-Performance Director Aqib Javed, and members of the selection committee.
This will be Afridi’s first assignment as Pakistan’s ODI captain, marking a significant moment in his international career. The PCB expressed confidence in his leadership skills and his ability to inspire the team against a formidable South African side.
