WEB DESK: Four soldiers embraced martyrdom while eleven others sustained injuries after militants opened fire on personnel of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) security team near Kot Lalu in Dera Ismail Khan district, official sources confirmed on Sunday.
The attack occurred when the Khawarij terrorists targeted the Base Camp (BC) and Protection FC PNI post. Following the exchange of fire, the attackers managed to flee. Soldiers immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.
The injured personnel were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Dera Ismail Khan for treatment, while the bodies of the martyrs will be sent to their native towns with full state honours.
Authorities have tightened security measures across the region, as investigations into the group responsible are underway.

The attack came a day after Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir addressed the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty, warning that any aggression would draw a “far harsher response” and urging the new cadets to carry forward the legacy of the martyrs.
