President and Field Marshal discuss internal and external security situation

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

According to official sources, the Army Chief briefed the President on the overall internal and external security environment of the country. He provided a detailed update on the prevailing situation along the Pak-Afghan border, particularly highlighting the aggressive and provocative actions of the Afghan Taliban regime.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also apprised the President of the Armed Forces’ swift and calibrated response to recent cross-border attacks, stressing that Pakistan’s military remains fully vigilant and prepared to defend the country against any threat to its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Asif Ali Zardari, while lauding the Armed Forces, expressed full confidence in their strength, courage, and professionalism. He appreciated their sacrifices and operational readiness in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers under challenging circumstances.

The President reaffirmed that Pakistan will protect its sovereignty and national security at all costs, reiterating that any aggression against the motherland would be met with a decisive response.
