KASUR: United States Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Natalie Baker has reiterated Washington’s commitment to Pakistan’s flood recovery efforts, as she visited Lahore and Kasur on Monday to review ongoing relief activities.
During her meeting with Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed, Ms Baker highlighted the US contribution of lifesaving disaster relief, underscoring Washington’s support for emergency response and recovery initiatives in Punjab.
According to a press release from the US embassy, the envoy met with displaced families and rescue workers at relief camps in Kasur — one of the districts hardest hit by flooding along the Sutlej River.
She praised the district administration’s coordinated response, noting that “not a single life was lost in this area” due to timely evacuation, recovery and sustained care measures. “The integrated approach serves as a model of excellence,” Ms Baker said.
