KARACHI: Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting more than 100 underage girls in the city.
The suspect, identified as Shabbir Ahmed, posed as a sherbet vendor to lure children, mostly daughters of domestic workers. Karachi Police said he confessed to the assaults and admitted recording videos of the abuse, also maintaining a diary with victims’ names and dates.
The case came to light when a girl discovered a USB drive from the suspect’s house containing disturbing videos. A shopkeeper and local residents helped apprehend the suspect and handed him over to police.
Officials confirmed four cases have been registered so far after victims identified him. Videos were also recovered from his mobile phone, which are now part of the investigation.

Police are probing whether Ahmed acted alone or was linked to a wider network possibly selling the content online. “This is a shocking case,” a spokesperson said, adding that all recovered devices are under forensic examination.
The investigation is ongoing, with more details expected as additional victims come forward.
