ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that Pakistan, Algeria and Somalia had requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the situation following an Israeli air strike on Doha, the capital of Qatar.
In a post on X, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s “complete solidarity and firm support” for the government and people of Qatar.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the strike as “the most dangerous provocation that could imperil regional peace and stability.” He said the attack was a “brazen violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar” and “totally unjustified.”

Shehbaz further denounced the “unlawful and heinous bombing in Doha by Israeli forces, targeting a residential area and endangering the lives of innocent civilians.” He reaffirmed that Pakistan stood firmly with Qatar and also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.
President Asif Ali Zardari echoed these sentiments, calling the Israeli action a “grave threat to peace in the region” and reaffirming Pakistan’s full support to Qatar.
