PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the launch of a digital pension system aimed at streamlining payments to retired employees and eliminating the need for manual processing.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur gave formal approval to the initiative, titled Ehsaas e-Pension System, which will become operational from Jan 1, 2026. Officials said the existing manual system would be completely phased out after the launch.
According to officials, the digital pension platform will allow government employees to submit their cases digitally six months before retirement through a simplified online form. Documents will be scanned and uploaded, while the system will generate time-bound tasks for relevant authorities.
The new platform will be linked with NADRA, the Accountant General’s Office and banks to ensure seamless processing. Payments will then be transferred directly to pensioners’ bank accounts within the stipulated time frame.

An Ehsaas Pension Dashboard will also be introduced to monitor cases and ensure accountability. Authorities said the digital process is designed to reduce delays, prevent corruption and improve efficiency.
CM Gandapur said the system would spare pensioners from repeated visits to government offices. “This is a true paperless system that promotes transparency and accountability,” he said, noting that 36 other public services had already been digitised in the province.
