LONDON: Actor Tom Holland has revealed for the first time that he has Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), admitting that the condition — along with his dyslexia — can make preparing for new roles “intimidating.”
Speaking to IGN, the 29-year-old Spider-Man: No Way Home star said: “I have ADHD and I’m dyslexic, and I find sometimes when someone gives me a blank canvas that it can be slightly intimidating. Sometimes you are met with those challenges when developing a character.”
Holland explained that creative problem-solving has helped him navigate those difficulties: “Any way that you can, as a young person or as an adult, interact with something that forces you to be creative and forces you to think outside the box … just promotes healthy creativity. The more we do that sort of stuff, the better.”

The actor’s comments come as he stars in a new LEGO short film, Never Stop Playing, which highlights the importance of play.
Sharing a personal memory, Tom Holland recalled bonding with co-star Jacob Batalon while working on Spider-Man: Homecoming: “Jacob and I were becoming fast friends … there’s that fantastic scene where Ned drops the LEGO Death Star. We were tasked by the studio to build one ourselves, and I just remember having really fond memories of sitting down with Jacob in my house, getting to know each other at the very beginning of this crazy journey.”
