Sialkot: Flight operations at Sialkot International Airport remain temporarily suspended due to floodwater intrusion, airport spokesperson Muhammad Umair Khan confirmed on Thursday.
The spokesperson said that water removal operations are ongoing as authorities work around the clock to restore normal activity. “Keeping in view the current flood situation, all flight operations will remain suspended until 10:00 PM on August 30,” he stated, adding that an official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued regarding the suspension.
According to Umair Khan, senior officers and airport staff have been deployed round-the-clock to oversee the de-watering process. Heavy-duty pumps and other resources are being utilized to expedite the clearing of water from the premises.
