Floods force major reshuffle in train schedule

Lahore: Due to the worsening flood situation, Pakistan Railways has announced changes to train operations, including diversions and cancellations of several services.

According to a Railways spokesperson, the Green Line 5-Up, which runs from Karachi to Margalla via Lahore, will now be limited to Lahore only. Passengers of this train will be adjusted in Tezgam 7-Up, which will travel via Shahdara, Sangla Hill, Shaheenabad, and Sargodha to reach Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the Sialkot Express 171-Up and Down, operating between Lahore and Sialkot, has been cancelled.

Additionally, Tezgam 8-Down, Jaffar Express 40-Down, and Awam Express 14-Down will be diverted via Lala Musa and Khanewal. Similarly, Green Line 6-Down and Rehman Baba Express 48-Down will be diverted via Sargodha and Khanewal.

The Khyber Mail 1-Up from Karachi to Peshawar will operate via Lahore and Mandi Bahauddin (Malakwal) to reach Peshawar.
