QUETTA: At least three coal miners lost their lives after toxic gas filled a coal mine in the Degari area of Mach on Monday, according to local sources.
The incident occurred when workers were engaged in mining operations deep underground and suddenly inhaled poisonous gas that had accumulated in the shaft. Rescue officials said the miners died on the spot due to suffocation.

The deceased miners were identified as residents of Quetta, with one belonging to Hazara Town and two from the Alamdar Road, Marriabad area.
Following the Mach tragedy, local administration, rescue teams and officials of the mines department rushed to the site to carry out relief activities.
