ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) sub-committee on Tuesday ordered the recovery of nearly Rs20 million from Honda Atlas, after audit officials flagged non-payment of transportation charges.
The meeting, chaired by Shahida Akhtar, reviewed audit objections which revealed that neither the National Logistics Cell (NLC) had claimed Rs4.1 million from the company, nor had Honda Atlas paid the amount.

Committee member Bilal Ahmed questioned the rationale behind writing off the dues. “Why is Honda Atlas not being asked to pay? Write-offs are only allowed under specific circumstances. Has Atlas gone bankrupt or shut down? It is still selling vehicles worth millions of rupees and remains a profitable company, so why isn’t it paying its dues?” he remarked.
The sub-committee subsequently directed authorities to recover the outstanding sum, stating that “there is no option other than recovery”.
