ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan rose by Rs4,700 per tola on Friday, recovering part of the losses recorded during the previous four trading sessions, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.

The price of one tola of gold increased to Rs453,036 from Rs448,336 a day earlier.

The price of 10 grammes of gold also rose by Rs4,229 to Rs388,404.

Gold prices had declined for four consecutive days, losing a cumulative Rs11,900 per tola during the period.

On Thursday, the price fell by Rs5,600 per tola to Rs448,336. It had declined by Rs1,800 on Wednesday, Rs4,500 on Tuesday and Rs2,000 on Monday.

In the international market, gold prices fell by $56 per ounce on Thursday to $4,258.

The latest increase in the domestic market comes after the precious metal recorded a four-day decline.
