ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday assured Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani of the federal government’s continued support for development, prosperity and public welfare in the region.
Gillani met Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s House, where the two leaders discussed the overall situation in AJK, including law and order, development initiatives and ongoing welfare projects.
Shehbaz congratulated Gillani on assuming office as the AJK prime minister and expressed his best wishes for his tenure.
The prime minister assured Gillani that the federal government would continue to extend full cooperation to the AJK government and support measures aimed at promoting development and improving the wellbeing of the people.
He said maintaining peace and stability, ensuring the provision of basic facilities and advancing the development process in AJK remained among the government’s key priorities.
The two leaders also reviewed various ongoing development and welfare projects in the region and discussed measures to further accelerate the development process.
Shehbaz reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting AJK’s development and improving living standards for its people.
Gillani said he would use all his capabilities to promote development and public welfare in the region.
He appreciated the cooperation extended by the federal government and expressed his resolve to work closely with Islamabad for the betterment and prosperity of AJK.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah were also present during the meeting.
