LAHORE: All public and private schools across Punjab will reopen on Monday, August 24, with the provincial School Education Department issuing revised timings for educational institutions.

The new schedule for government schools will remain in effect from August 24 to October 15, 2026.

Single-shift schools will operate from 8am to 1:30pm from Monday to Thursday, while classes will end at 12:45pm on Friday.

For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 8am to 12:30pm from Monday to Thursday and until noon on Friday. The evening shift will operate from 1pm to 5:30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 2pm to 5:30pm on Friday.

The School Education Department has directed chief executive officers and district education authorities to ensure strict implementation of the revised schedule.

The announcement comes amid rumours on social media that summer holidays had been extended. The department clarified that schools across the province will reopen on August 24 as scheduled.

Parents and students have been advised to follow the revised timings and contact their respective schools or district education authorities for any institution-specific instructions.
