ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P) has launched a passport home delivery service through a private courier company to facilitate applicants across Pakistan.
The initiative was introduced on the directions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as part of the government’s efforts to improve public convenience and streamline passport delivery services.
According to an official statement, applicants will now be able to receive their passports at their registered addresses instead of visiting passport offices to collect the documents.
The launch of the service comes days after Naqvi announced that cashless payment facilities had become operational at all passport offices across the country.
In a post on X, the interior minister said applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments.
He said the reform was implemented on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, adding that the initiative marked another step towards making public services faster, more transparent and more convenient for citizens.
“Many more milestones lie ahead, and, InshaAllah, we will continue to achieve them,” Naqvi said.
The interior minister also commended the passport department for successfully implementing the reforms and praised the entire passport team for its performance.
