KHYBER: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle Afghan passports at the Torkham border and arrested an Afghan national on the spot.
According to FIA officials, the suspect, identified as Subhanullah, was found carrying 25 Afghan passports hidden inside cold drink cans. The documents carried valid visas for Tajikistan.

Authorities said the arrested man hails from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, and was apprehended red-handed while trying to move the passports across the border.
The suspect has been shifted to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Peshawar for interrogation. Officials said further investigation is in progress to trace the network involved in the smuggling attempt.
