19 senior federal bureaucrats hold dual nationality: Report

ISLAMABAD: A report compiled by the Establishment Division has revealed that 19 federal bureaucrats serving in grades 18 to 22 hold dual nationality.

According to the findings, the list includes two officers in Grade 22, two in Grade 21, six in Grade 20, seven in Grade 19 and two officers in Grade 18.

The report states that Special Secretary Establishment Division Sara Saeed holds British citizenship. Grade 22 officer Ali Sarfraz Hussain of the Pakistan Administrative Service also possesses UK nationality and is currently posted in Geneva as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the WTO.

Among Grade 21 officers, Police Service official Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh holds British citizenship, while Secretariat Group officer Samar Ehsan holds Canadian nationality.

In Grade 20, Secretariat Group officer Ghulam Mujtaba holds US citizenship, while Tahir Ahmed Farooqi holds British nationality. Police Service officer Shahid Javed holds Canadian citizenship. Other Grade 20 officers with dual nationality include Lieutenant (R) Imran Shoukat, Fawaduddin Riaz Qureshi and Suhail Ahmed Sheikh.

The report further mentions that Grade 19 Pakistan Administrative Service officer Saima Ali holds British citizenship. Police Service officers in Grade 19 include Nadeem Hussain, Barkat Hussain Khoso who holds Canadian nationality, Adil Memon, and Atif Nazir who holds US citizenship.

It also notes that Haider Ashraf holds Canadian citizenship, while another Grade 19 police officer is also a British citizen.

In Grade 18, Pakistan Administrative Service officer Rabia Aurangzeb holds Canadian nationality, while Police Service officer Javed Ahmed Baloch holds British citizenship.
